When we do cross-country training on the Kingsway, lots of things happen and it’s exciting. Everyone is racing along the side of the grassy pavement which is loaded with sticks and leaves – it’s like an obstacle course and it makes you have more of a spring in your step. When we pass people they call out things like, “Come on, run faster!” and “Keep it going!” The good thing about the Kingsway is that it’s a really long run and you think you’re done but then it just keeps going!
It’s extremely hard when you’re running back and you just have to keep going. When you get to the end you feel great and then you collapse. Hawkhill Harriers are the best team and I love running with them.
